Carter Rope and Ranch Horses in De Kalb, Texas is a family-run operation led by Colt, his wife Michelle, and their three sons—Quaid, Hardy, and Callan. Based in a true love for riding and ranching, the family trains and rides a diverse range of rope and ranch horses, from big to small. Colt, a passionate competitor in calf roping, team roping, and ranch rodeos, thrives on training horses that experience all facets of ranch life, steadily improving each animal with every ride. His sons, Quaid (8) and Hardy (7), are right by his side, learning the ropes of ranch work, helping with daily tasks, and practicing their roping skills in the arena. They especially enjoy working with ponies, ensuring they are well-suited for riders of all ages and sizes. Their youngest, Callan (10 months), is already showing early signs of the family’s love for ranch life. Together, the Carter family is dedicated to raising and training horses that are not only skilled but also a joy to ride.
