Clinic Structure: small groups per 2 hour session. Participants will rotate between one-on-one attention from Cole, practicing what's taught, and observing other participants.

Meet the Clinician

Cole Matier is a North Texas based trainer specializing in reining horses and cow horses. He has spent several years working under multiple million-dollar riders across various sectors of the Western performance horse industry, gaining experience, mentorship, and a foundation built on elite horsemanship. 

His program focuses on two-year-olds, futurity prospects, and derby horses. Cole operates under the slogan “Elite Standards Prevail,” a philosophy rooted in holding himself and his horses to the highest level of craftsmanship and performance. Even as a young trainer, he remains closely connected to top-level mentors, continually seeking their guidance and refining his approach. Cole is quick to sing the praises of the many legends of the industry who he's been fortunate to study under. He is particularly grateful to fellow Southern Belle Classic consignor, Kelli Neubert, and her husband Luke Neubert. Luke is credited with shaping many of Cole's beliefs.

“If you think you know everything you can’t learn anything and I always want to be learning everyday,” he says. One of his favorite quotes comes from Ray Hunt, the godfather of horsemanship: “It takes a lifetime to learn how to live a lifetime.” That mindset shapes his entire program.
